The membrane palmitoylated protein 5 (MPP 5), also referred to as PALS 1, belongs to the membrane associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) protein family. It is a multi adaptor protein that interacts via its PSD-95/Dlg/ZO-1 (PDZ) and L-27 domains with the proteins Crb 1, Crb 3 and Patj. It has been shown to be involved in the establishment of apicobasal cell polarity.
