Cat. No. HS-499 003 |
50 µg specific antibody, lyophilized. Affinity purified with the immunogen. Albumin and azide were added for stabilization. For reconstitution add 50 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use. Antibodies should be stored at +4°C when still lyophilized. Do not freeze! |
Applications | |
Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of mouse MARCO (UniProt Id: Q60754) |
Reactivity |
Reacts with: mouse (Q60754). No signal: rat (M0R9F7), human (Q9UEW3). Other species not tested yet. |
Remarks |
IHC: Heat-mediated antigen retrieval (in citrate buffer pH 6) is required for immunohistochemical staining |

The macrophage receptor with collagenous structure (MARCO) belongs to the class A scavenger receptor (SR-A) family, all of which are transmembrane proteins with a homotrimeric structure (1). MARCO is constitutively expressed by peritoneal macrophages and splenic marginal zone macrophages. Its expression can be induced in other macrophages, such as Kupffer cells or alveolar macrophages, after bacterial infection or intravenous injection of LPS (2). MARCO mediates the binding of pathogens and unopsonized environmental particles, suggesting an important role in host defense (3). In tumor-associated macrophages, MARCO defines a subtype of suppressive TAMs (4) and is considered a potential prognostic and immunotherapeutic biomarker (5).
