MAL2A peptide - 229-0P

MAL 2A is a member of the MAL protein family
control peptide
Cat. No.: 229-0P
Amount: 100 µg
Price: $105.00
Cat. No. 229-0P 100 µg peptide, lyophilized. For reconstitution add 100 µl H2O to get a 1mg/ml solution in PBS. Then aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C until use.
Control peptides should be stored at -20°C when still lyophilized!
Applications

Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to AA 13 to 21 from rat MAL2A (UniProt Id: Q7TPB7)
Recommended dilution Optimal concentrations should be determined by the end-user.
Matching antibodies 229 003
Remarks

This control peptide consists of the synthetic peptide (aa 13 - 28 in rat) that has been used for immunization. It has been tested in preadsorption experiments and blocks efficiently and specifically the corresponding signal in Western blots. The amount of peptide needed for efficient blocking depends on the titer and on the affinity of the antibody to the antigen.

Background
MAL 2 is an integral membrane protein that contains 4 putative transmembrane domains and belongs to the myelin and lymphocyte (MAL) protein family. Two isoforms, MAL 2A and MAL 2B, have been described so far. MAL 2 overexpression has been reported in several cancer types like breast, ovarian, and pancreatic carcinoma. It has been shown to be an essential component of the machinery for basolateral-to-apical transcytosis in hepatoma HepG2 cells but its mechanistic function still has to be elucidated.
Recently MAL 2A has been identified as a synaptic vesicle protein mainly localized to VGluT positive vesicles.
